I used to work for a large corporation as an engineer, but after a few years I decided I needed more of a challenge, so in 1999 I established Excellent Electrics. I opened my first retail premises on Chatterton Road in Bromley in August 2001, and have been meeting challenges (in a good way) on a daily basis ever since!
I’m an inquisitive chap and since I was a child I’ve always been fascinated by how things work. I really enjoy the challenge of repairing items, especially when I save a customer’s expensive piece of kit from the rubbish bin.
As we say at Excellent Electrics: “If it’s got a plug on it, we’ll be able to fix it, and if it hasn’t got a plug on it, we probably still can.”
We never shirk from any challenge, no matter how complicated a repair might initially seem. Big companies love you to throw away your TV or music system when it develops a fault … mainly because it means you have to buy a new one! It’s much more cost-effective to have your item repaired than to splash out, and my engineering background means at Excellent Electrics we always have an excellent chance of returning your faulty item to you in perfect working order.
For example, one customer brought into us her child’s Christmas present – a toy car Mini. The customer was unable to get the car working, and neither had the handful of electrical repair companies she had contacted for help. To my delight, I was able to work out what the problem was, source the necessary part and get the toy car working again.
Right from the off, I have always put customer service at the forefront of everything I do, and it’s something that has held Excellent Electrics in good stead. Nearly all of our work comes from word-of-mouth and recommendation, we do all we can to remain friendly, yet professional. Our commitment to customer service means a great deal to me, and we’re thankful for all the work that comes our way.
